Visiting Antiques and The Arts in Downtown McMinnville, Tennessee is like coming home to see an old friend. From the moment one enters the front door, there is a warmth and friendliness seldom found in a business establishment. Whether it's the individual character of the boutique-style areas throughout the store or seeing numerous items from years gone by, this store feels like home.
According to Sherrill Bull, proprietor of Antiques and The Arts and nearly decade resident of McMinnville, "My store is an eclectic mix of rare antiques and collectibles, vintage jewelry, hats, and apparel, hard to find dolls and toys, original art and high quality musical instruments. It's a store that celebrates the arts in all of its forms."
Even though Bull owns the store, her collectables and art are not the only items found in the store. "There are several merchants in this store. Local potter, Dorinda Watts, has a wide selection of very high quality hand thrown stoneware pottery in a variety of colors and styles, and longtime antique collector Iris Walker, with her vast array of antiques, are just a couple," said Bull.
The Dottie West Music Festival will be back in downtown McMinnville on October 10th and commemorative photos can be purchased at Antiques And The Arts. Many sizes are available, framed, matted, or 5 X 7. Postcards are also available at the Warren County Heritage Center and Museum, just two doors down. Photographed by Tom Glynn, Dodson Branch Graphics.
This antique boutique also offers a perfect blend of antiques and art from local artists and photographers - such as Judge Chuck Haston, Sr., Jacob Basham, Janey Smith and Danny Phifer.
Bull also notes that since the store’s opening, patrons from not only the surrounding area, but from across the United States stopped by to see the one-of-kind store. "Thus far, we’ve attracted both local residents and individuals from around the country," Bull proudly states.
| Whether you have a few minutes or an afternoon, Antiques and The Arts is the perfect place to step back in time for awhile to take a trip down memory lane or select another piece of art for your personal collection. |
